I've always hated Maya Angelou...
Okay, not really. But I saw this quote of hers today, and now I kinda do:
"Nothing will work unless you do."
Well, that's just great. Way to throw a huge fucking wrench into my life plan, lady. Thank you so, SO much.
Sigh.

How DARE she!
You're not alone Helen, that bitch just ruined my life too!
She is a fat whore. I actually have no idea why a caged bird sings, nor do I care.
yes, I agree that she acted like a bitch! But still,
she also said that " every person is born with talent" use your talent and dont work!
Damn her! Work? Bleecchh. Actually, I have always had a beef with that woman, brilliant though she may be. Too deep. To intense. Too serious. Also, a waiter at one of the restaurants I used to work at who LOVED her rushed up to her after her desert just falling over himself and gushing and said "Oh, Ms. Angelou I'm SUCH a huge fan PLEASE, you simply MUST give me your autograph!" to which she replied "Young man, I do not HAVE to do anything."
There was an awkward moment and he slunk off, pen and paper napkin in hand.
He speaks ill of her to this very day. Beeyotch.
The NERVE!!!
That's it... from this day forth, I'm WHITE!
What is this thing "work" that you all keep referring to?
I look at it diffrently.
By NOT werkin, I draw th clearest possible distinction btween MYSELF an NOTHIN.
Its a mattr o self-rspeckt.
It all depends on you define "work". I may hate "to work," but I rather enjoy "working it." Too bad I am not a supermodel, so I don't get paid for this.
really maya, what have you done for me lately?
